Glovers Project Services Limited is an established multi-disciplinary practice specialising in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Building Surveying, Planning Supervision and Dispute Resolution. Since its inception in 1979 the company has been adding value to the activities of its client base, establishing a strong reputation which has seen it expand on the back of repeat business and referrals from key customers.

Cameron Middleton & Lees
Cameron Middleton & Lees was originally founded in London in 1924. This makes it one of the earliest established practices in the UK and one of the longest-running. CML subsequently opened offices in Manchester and Oldham and the practice is now run from a single location in Oldham.
CML has extensive experience in all areas of the construction industry and offers the full range of surveying services including:

CML was acquired by Glovers in December 2007 and this move has strengthened the breadth and depth of quantity surveying experience avaliable to our clients. CML is managed by Associate Director, Alan Whiting who has been with Glovers for over seven years and is responsible for the provision of our Employer's Agent services for JCT D&B contracts.
Key Staff
David J. Baldwin BSc DipArb, FCICES, FRICS, FCIArb | Managing Director
David can call on over 30 years experience in construction. Prior to joining Glovers in 1988 he worked in contracting on high profile projects in the UK, Nigeria, Egypt and Tanzania. As a result of the growth of the company, David has now taken the role of Managing Director. He has acted as Adjudicator and Arbitrator, and has been involved in a variety of claims for extension of time, disruption, loss and expense etc on building, civil, mechanical, electrical and process engineering contracts. David is regularly asked to act as an Expert Witness and recent appointments include as quantum expert on an £88M utilities disputes and quantum expert on a £60M international dispute. David also has experience of acting as Single Joint Expert in a number of County Court claims.
Brian Mason DipSurv, MRICS, AMICES, FaPS | Director
Brian has over 30 years Quantity Surveying experience, joining Glovers in 1993. Brian became a Director of the firm in 1996. In addition to offering pre and post contract Quantity Surveying services, Brian is the Director responsible for CDM coordination. Brian was one of the first Fellows of the Association of Project Safety and carries out the full range of services including acting as Principal Contractor, health & safety audits, risk assessments, CHAS accreditation and seminars and training. Brian is passionate about improving safety in construction and adopts a hands-on approach to CDM which involves regular site visits and liaison with the contractors.
Alan Whiting MBA Dip Proj Man MRICS | Associate Director
Alan is responsible for the Glovers / Cameron Middleton & Lees office in Oldham. Alan has over 25 years experience providing both pre and post contract quantity surveying services for Local Authorities and private contractors. During this time he gained experience of a variety of procurement methods and since joining Glovers from a national building contractor in 2004 he has worked on both pre-construction and construction stage project management on residential and commercial projects. Alan's experience includes the preparation/submission of tenders, agreement of budgets and assessment of commercial and financial risks on development projects. Alan is also responsible for the delivery of our Employer's Agent services under JCT D&B contracts.
Mary Cross LLB(Hons) DipLegal Practice, DipSurv ACIArb Barrister (n/p) | Head of Contract Services
Mary has over 12 years experience in all sectors of the construction industry and with dual qualifications in surveying and law she is ideally placed to give practical advice on a wide range of contractual issues. Under the umbrella of Contract Services, Mary provides commercial advice in respect of terms and conditions of contract, risk management and the preparation and delivery of seminars. In addition, she provides a broad spectrum of dispute resolution services including claims preparation, adjudication advice, arbitration support, mediation and all forms of ADR. As Head of Contract Services, Mary manages the Expert Witness work of the practice, and the solicitors we work with find this approach to be highly beneficial. Mary is currently researching the contractual impact of the ever increasing demand for sustainability in construction projects and other commercial aspects of environmental legislation.
Nick White BSc (Hons) | Building Surveyor
Nick joined Glovers in 2003 having completed his degree at Salford University in 2002 and heads up the team which carries out building surveys, condition surveys, asbestos surveys, measured surveys, planning / Building Regulation applications and can also advise and act as Party Wall Surveyor. Nick has experience running large scale asset management surveys through Glovers' appointment as consultants for both Carillion Facilities Management and Interserve for management of the HSBC portfolio. Nick also has site based experience for new build and refurbishment work. In addition, Nick is able to provide Expert Witness reports for court proceedings and has recently acted as expert on a number of boundary disputes and several defective works claims.
